Sixth State Conference of West Bengal vows to intensify the movements for employment and against recruitment scams.

The sixth West Bengal State Conference of RYA was held at Dhubulia village, Nadia district on December 6-7’ 2021. Hundreds of youth delegates from different districts of the state reached the conference venue despite the heavy rains caused by Jawad cyclone. Many youth from the nearby villages were also present. As the rains stopped around 4 o’clock in the evening, a big procession marched in the market area of Dhubulia.
After the procession, RYA flag was hoisted and martyrs were paid tributes at the venue. Thereafter open session of the conference begun which was addressed by many eminent speakers. National President Manoj Manzil called for an organized movement against the Modi government policies and said that the neoliberal policies of the central government have pushed the youth of the nation to the unemployment. Never in the independent India, was unemployment rate so high. It calls for an unprecedented kind of organized movement.

CPI(ML) West Bengal state secretary Comrade Abhijit Majumder reminded the legacy of the Naxalbari movement, said that "we call upon the youth who have come to the conference to carry forward the dream that Naxalbari had given to the people by sacrificing their lives. I would also like to remind you that the leaders of the Naxalbari movement were not very old. Comrade Charu Majumdar was only 40 years old and Kanu Sanyal was much younger. Today there is a demand not only for work and dignity, but to make India independent again where everyone can live with their heads held high and the right to work comes along."
SK Siraj from SSC Chatra Yuvo Adhikar manch and RYA WB state secretary Comrade Apurba Ghosh also addressed the open session. CPI(ML) Polit Beauro member Kartik Pal, State committee members Basudeb Basu, Sajal Pal, Subrata Sengupta and others were also present at the conference.

Addressing the organizational session of the conference, RYA National General Secretary Comrade Niraj Kumar said that in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the people, especially the youth, have foiled the venomous intentions of BJP-RSS which is commendable. The country is facing devastation today due to the policies adopted by the Modi government at the Centre. Inflation is skyrocketing; oppressed sections of the society are being attacked with impunity by government; unemployment is highest in independent India; youths seeking employment are being attacked. The victory of the farmers' movement is a source of inspiration and energy for the agitating forces in this dark time. Taking inspiration and motivation from the farmers' movement, we will take the youth movement in a decisive direction.

The youth of West Bengal expect from the government to provide jobs and stop the on-going recruitment scams. Mamta Banerjee again formed the government but the youth are still on the streets for their demands. It is the need of the hour to carry on the fight on the question of employment. We hope that this conference will further strengthen the organization to lead the intense battle and shape bigger movements.

The Organization session of the conference continued with the performance of revolutionary songs by Comrade SK Sabir. A presidium of five members was formed including Comrade Subhadeep, Comrade Atanu, Comrade Munbhola, Comrade Sameer and Comrade Suchitra. A steering committee with Comrade Pavel, Comrade Srabani and Comrade Subir was also formed. Comrade Niraj was present as Central Observer. The conference was attended by 166 delegates from different districts of the state. State secretary Comrade Apurba Ghosh read out the draft report. AICCTU State General Secretary Comrade Basudeb Basu and Party Politburo Member Comrade Kartik Pal spoke at the session. Thereafter the delegates spoke on the draft report.
